Welcome to our blog! Like many families, we have lots of things that slow us down. Our blog is named turtle herd because as we pull out of the driveway our sons often say "and we're off like a herd of turtles!"
As we balance work, home, and trying to find time to feel like a married couple, we constantly question what is the best use of our time and energy.
This week I've been slowed down by a car that looks like a homeless math teacher lives there - I emptied half of my professional library out of the office at my school as I am sitting through this summer with a pink slip and wanted to be sure my personal belongings were all out. My son's last day of preschool was this week , too, so all his art projects, clothes, and bedding came home. Add to that a sizeable Amvets donation that has been hitchhiking for two missed attempts to drop off (really did they have to pick that day to repave the street in front of the donation center?). When I sit in the driver seat I feel the weight of the to do list - launder the preschool stuff, donate the castoffs, oh yeah and find a job.
I'm hoping to feel lighter when its cleaned out.
